Keith Leach - Academic Coach

Meet Keith Leach
Academic Coach

An older man with a bald head, glasses, and a white beard stands outdoors, smiling softly at the camera. He is wearing a blue button-up shirt with one hand in his pocket, with blurred trees and grass in the background.

I listen closely, never rush, and take the time to understand how each student learns because it’s about building real understanding in a way that fits the student, not the system.

I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (cum laude) and a master’s degree in history, both from UTSA. I substituted in public school classrooms for NISD, supported students with special needs, and homeschooled my neurodivergent son from 5th through 12th grade.

I work with students of all ages and neurotypes. Whether your child needs help with schoolwork, study habits, confidence, or executive functioning, I meet them with calm encouragement and no pressure.

How I Coach

I guide students through problems step by step, and offer enough support to keep them moving while giving them space to find the answer themselves. That moment when a student says, “I did it,” is the moment I'm working toward.

There is no shame. No rush. Just steady, respectful support that builds understanding and confidence.

Texas Raised

My father served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in San Antonio when I was a boy. We stayed, and Texas became home, so I was raised here and now live in the Hill Country with my wife and son.

What I Can Offer

Each session is one-on-one, relaxed, and designed to help the student feel understood.

A Real Moment

“My son is a well-balanced young man of character and grace today because of Keith’s support and guidance. He struggled in 5th grade and couldn’t grasp the work. Keith, drawing on his academic background, offered alternative ways to approach the material. He noted mistakes, not as failures, but as clues to how my son learns. He listened with compassion, patience, and reassurance. When others might have given up, Keith didn’t.”
